Our Father’s Love
February 1, 2025
As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose. It contains a link to the “Our Daily Bread” devotional and a prayer inspired by the passage on which today’s devotion is based. We hope you will find both helpful. We also encourage you to read the “Bible in a Year” passages so that by the end of this year you will have read the entire Bible.
Today’s Our Daily Bread is Our Father’s Love
Considering 1 John 3:1-3, 16-24, we cannot thank You enough, Heavenly Father, for the love You lavished on us as demonstrated by Your sending Your Beloved Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to lay down His life for us to reconcile us to Yourself as Your children. While we grow in our understanding of what it looks like to be Your child, we do so with the sure and purifying hope that when He returns, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. In light of Christ’s sacrificial love for us, may we make whatever sacrifices are needed to love one another, not with empty talk but with actions and in truth. We claim the promise that in so doing, we will know that we are of the truth, and have the assurance that You will hear and answer our prayers; that by believing in Him and loving one another as He commands, we will receive what we ask of You, fully assured of our life in Him with You and confirmed by the Holy Spirit we received from You, Who leads us to request only what will glorify You and Him in Whose Name we pray. Amen.
Bible in a year: Exodus 27-28; Matthew 21:1-22
