Walking With God

Walking With God

January 14, 2025

As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose.  It contains a link to the “Our Daily Bread” devotional and a prayer inspired by the passage on which today’s devotion is based.  We hope you will find both helpful.  We also encourage you to read the “Bible in a Year” passages so that by the end of this year you will have read the entire Bible.

Today’s Our Daily Bread is Walking with God

Considering Genesis 5:21-24 we pray, Heavenly Father, that we, like Enoch, will be remembered as those who walked faithfully with You, then were no more because You took us home.  We thank You for opening the opportunity by virtue of the death and resurrection of Your Beloved Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and making it possible by virtue of the empowering Presence of Your Holy Spirit.  We claim the promises that when walking by the Spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the flesh, and as those who belong to Jesus, we have crucified the flesh with its passions.  Please continue teaching us to stay in step with the Spirit, knowing that in sowing to please Him we can fully appreciate and appropriate the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control that He produces in us to the praise of Your glory and that of Jesus in Whose Name we pray.  Amen.

Bible in a year: Genesis 33-35; Matthew 10:1-20

If you have a prayer request or a prayer for all of us that we can share for one another, please send it to prayerchain@nbccparker.com.
